Direct Measured
LDL: Some LDL cholesterol measurements are only
estimates, based upon a calculation involving a combination of measured
HDL cholesterol and Triglycerides. For a number of reasons, these calculated
measurements can be inaccurate - a direct measurement of LDL generally
provides
a much more accurate result.
Calculated LDL:
Many cholesterol testing methodologies utilize a calculation to estimate
the quantity of LDL cholesterol in your bloodstream, rather than directly
measuring it. There are a number of factors that can cause this calculation
to produce inaccurate results.
